Creators You Should Know… Geekly, Inc.
Hey, gang, Pat Edwards here…
Please be forewarned: I’m coming right out the gate here with some cliché existential philosophy ramblings. Now that we have that disclaimer out of the way, let’s talk about community.
A “community” can materialize in many unique & different forms, but the underlying foundation of the concept is a group of humans coming together for a shared interest. For example, here at Storytellers Forge, we believe that between our staff, our collaborative partners, and our Discord denizens, we have the beginnings of what will prove to be a truly wonderful creative community.
But I want to take a moment to highlight another community, one that is very near and dear to my heart:
Geekly, Inc. is a network of podcasts, streams, & events. Their flagship show is Greetings, Adventurers which is one of the longest-running actual play TTRPG podcasts in existence. But beyond that, they have a host of exceptional content made by many delightful humans. From plenty of firsthand experience, I can tell you that the Geekly, Inc. community is one of the kindest, most welcoming, and supportive nerd communities in the world. Their annual GeeklyCon is pure, raw fun. It’s a community that has been tremendously supportive of my own writing career.
In celebration of the show’s 10-year anniversary, Geekly, Inc. is currently hosting a crowdfunding campaign to create a very special batch of Greetings, Adventurers episodes. Even if you’ve never heard of the show before, A) you really should check it out, and B) you should definitely consider supporting this font of positive nerd energy. At the very least, if you aren’t able to support the funding campaign, I highly recommend checking out some of their shows and streams.
But if you’re considering supporting the funding campaign, you need to act fast! There are only a few days left!
Bye, All My Buddies!
